October 13th is being observed as a 'No Bra Day'. What does it actually mean? This Social Media campaign has been launched to create awareness about the Breast Cancer among Women.
'No Bra Day' is being practiced since 2011. Every year on October 13th which is the middle of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Women were asked not to wear bras. Women are motivated to undergo Mammogram Screenings which helps diagnosing breast cancer. People are encouraged to raise funds for the Breast Cancer research, so that cure can be found for the deadly disease at the earliest.
Hashtag #NoBraDay keeps trending on October 13th every year. Despite criticism for objectifying women bodies, This campaign has only gained popularity over the years.
As per a survey, Breast Cancer could kill 76,000 women per year by 2020. It has already been one of the deadly diseases causing numerous deaths among women.
