TDP & TRS Governments have been desperately lobbying for delimitation of Assembly Constituencies to resolve internal issues which arised with defection of Opposition MLAs into Ruling Parties. Even the passage of this Bill in the Parliament Session beginning from Today has been ruled out.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened an All-Party Meeting to discuss about the issues to be discussed in this Parliament Session. Post this meeting, CPM National Secretary & Rajya Sabha Member Sitharam Yethuri made it clear that the dream of Chandrababu Naidu & K Chandrasekhar Rao willn't be fulfilled anytime soon. 'Already, 10 Bills in Lok Sabha & 8 Bills in Rajya Sabha have been pending. So, The bill seeking delimitation of Assembly Constituencies in Telugu States willn't be moved in this Session,' he told.
Union Minister Sujana Chowdhary informed that focus would be more on GST implementation in this Parliament Session. He opined Bill on delimitation of Assembly Constituencies can be moved only if the number of working days of the ongoing session are increased.
