Supreme Court on Monday passed a ruling that the order it delivered in November 2016, imposing a ban on the sale of firecrackers in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), will continue till October 31st.

This year, Diwali is on October 19th. Which means, People living in Delhi at that period won't have access to firecrackers during the festival season.

On November 11th last year, The Apex Court cancelled all the licenses permitting sale of fire crackers in Delhi-NCR. On Nov 12th this year, SC lifted the stay order temporarily and permitted sale of crackers. But now, The fresh order restores ban.

SC order should really improve the air quality in the National Capital. Experts have been raising concerns over the growing pollution in Delhi since few years. Even the measures taken by AAP Government has given poor results.

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh appealed People to distribute sweets instead of firing crackers during this Diwali.
