UPA Government announced Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad before the end of its tenure in 2014. NDA Government, however, failed to provide any financial assistance to take it forward.
Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao didn't hesitate to say not even a single rupee was sanctioned by Union Government for the prestigious project inspite of repeated appeals. He recalled the representation given to Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for seeking funds. He found fault with Ravi Shankar Prasad for going to the extent of saying Centre has shelved ITIRs.
KTR ridiculed UPA Government for announcing five ITIRs before the end of 5 years term but failing to provide any funding. The Minister had once again made it sound like, 'Tall Claims of Centre hasn't been coming true'.
BJP has become the main rival of TRS in Telangana. So, TRS Leaders have been highlighting the lack of proper assistance to the state from centre.
