Special Package cant be discussed now: Modi

While welcoming the Special Package, TDP Government sought Centre to make it legal with the approval of Union Cabinet so that all the assurances will be implemented in a time-bound manner irrespective of the party in power. Seems like, This isn't going to happen any time soon.

When Finance Minister Aruj Jaitley brought the proposal during the recent cabinet meeting on February 15th, PM Narendra Modi told his cabinet colleagues that AP Special Package could be discussed later due to shortage of time. Which means, Special Package will be coming up for discussion in the next budget session starting from March 9th, 2017.

Already, Centre invited the wrath of AP People by going back on Special Category Status. It's now hurting the Andhrites even more by delaying the necessary clearances to be given for Special Assistance Measure. One gets the feeling that NDA mayn't be taking a clear stand until few months before 2019 Polls
