The first phase of controversial Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project will be completed on or before September 15th this year. While few pumps will be installed before the first half of September, Few other would be done in October and the rest in early 2016.

AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu informed that 80 tmcft of water from Godavari river will be diverted to Krishna delta once all the pumps of the Pattiseema projectare operations. He said sufficient funds were allotted to the project to complete the project at the earliest.

Explaining the importance of Pattiseema project, Naidu said as much as 1,029 tmcft of Godavari water had gone waste into the sea when there was storage of 509 tmcft in reservoirs such as Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam. He defended dedicating Pattiseema project to the Nation on August 15th without its completion. The TDP Supremo advised YSRC not to seek political mileage by making an issue out of everything.
