History, it is said repeat itself. First, as a farce and then as a tragedy! Is history repeating itself? Remember Chandrababu Naidu used every trick in the trade to lure YSRCP MLAs. He got 23 MLAs, gave some of them ministries and got 3 MPs. He started his Operation Akarsh from the Public Accounts Committee chairperson. Bhuma Nagireddy, who was the PAC chairperson, jumped into the TDP first.
This seems to be repeating now. The TDP, which lured 3 MPs and 23 MLAs is now having just 23 MLAs and 3 MPs after the recent general elections. Its PAC chairman is Payyavula Keshav. Payyavula is a steadfast TDP man, who never changed parties so far. But highly placed sources say he is looking to join the YSRCP. Interestingly, there is another rumour that he has been given PAC chairperson's post only because he is looking to join the YSRCP. Chandrababu wants to tie him down to the TDP by giving him the all-important post.
But, Payyavula knows fully well that the TDP has no future in AP. So, he is looking towards the YSRCP. However, he also knows that if he changes parties, he would have to lose the MLA post. But, he also knows that the TDP may soon be a thing of the past. So, he is now said to be trying to move into the YSRCP. The PAC chairperson's post is aimed at stopping him from joining the YSRCP, say those in the know.
