Jan Arogya Abhiyaan: 10 Crore In 1st Phase!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day address from the Red Fort lasted for more than 80 minutes.
On this occasion, PM announced NDA Government's ambitious healthcare scheme Jan Arogya Abhiyaan. This scheme aimed to benefit 50 crore citizens of the country will roll out on September 25th.
In the first phase, Health Insurance of Rs 5 lakh will be provided to as many as 10 crore poor families in the country.
Healthcare expenses have been pushing close to 5.5 crore people below the poverty line. Jan Arogya Abhiyaan covers 1,354 medical and surgical packages including Hospitalisation Expenses such as Consultation Fees, Medicines, Diagnostic Tests, Surgical Equipment & Procedure Charges, Cost of Implants and Food provided for Patients. Chemotherapy for 50 types of cancers would be extended to the beneficiaries who were diagnosed with the life-threatening disease.
In case of surgeries, The highest package rate will be treated as First Treatment and waiver would be applied. 50 percent and 25 percent of the costs are going to be provided for second and third treatment.
