NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar discloses he quit Congress in 1999 only because then Party President Sonia Gandhi wants to become Prime Minister though he and Manmohan Singh were the right persons for the Post.

During the public interview with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray in Pune, Sharad Pawar said: 'After the collapse of Vajpayee Government, Me and Manmohan Singh are the right claimants for PM Post. I came to know through media that Congress President staked claim to form government for becoming PM. That's when I decided to quit'.

Sharad Pawar believes only Congress can be an alternative to the BJP. He appreciated Rahul Gandhi's enthusiasm to interact with people and improve knowledge. The NCP Chief claims to have seen Congress Chief change a lot in the recent past and he sees it as a positive sign.

MNS Chief Raj Thackeray asked if there is a possibility for people of Mumbai visiting Ahmedabad in the Bullet Train proposed by Modi to eat dhoklas. Pawar opined he sees a possibility of Gujaratis coming to Mumbai in the bullet train.
