RK Nagar By-Poll Election Schedule

Election Commission decided to conduct RK Nagar by-election on December 21st this year. This announcement came three days after Madras High Court set December 31st deadline for the by-poll in the constituency which fell vacant with the demise of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.
Polling in RK Nagar will happen on December 21st. The counting of the votes and results will be announced on 24th of December.
EC cancelled RK Nagar by-poll in April this year after raids exposed AIADMK Ministers bribing voters for Dhinakaran's victory. AIADMK suspended both Sasikala and Dhinakaran few months ago. Still, Dhinakaran continues to claim he will be the candidate of AIADMK for RK Nagar by-poll.
On the other hand, Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar pinned all her hopes on RK Nagar by-poll. Her political career will end if she doesn't win in this crucial election.
