Congress Party has devised a master plan to defeat BJP in 2019 elections. The party has handed over the responsibility to the committee headed by AK Antony to finalise a roadmap for the Congress win in 2019 elections by defeating BJP. This committee will have interactions with the district level, state level committees to know the challenges faced by the party locally. AK Antony committee will bring these challenges to the notice of the high command. The party will take appropriate action based on the final report of the committee. Party president Rahul Gandhi will take a decision on the aspects like how many seats party should contest and the seat adjustments with the other parties in the next elections.

Congress has decided to give more representation to the regional parties in 2019 elections and to achieve that goal Congress will contest in less possible seats.
