Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani officially announced Jio garnered Rs 10 crore subscribers within just 170 days. On an average, 7 new customers subscribed to Reliance Jio every second. During this period, As much as 100 crore GB of data has been used by Jio Users each month. Which means, The data usage is 3.3 crore GB per day.

Mukesh Ambani target providing Jio services to 99% of the population by the end of 2017. He proudly claims Jio have more than double 4G Base Stations when compared to the combined count of all the Internet Service Providers. The Reliance Boss announced that all domestic voice calls to any network remain free even after Jio starts charging customers for data usage from April 2017.

Jio Primary Membership could be obtained for Rs 99 for those who subscribe by March 31st, 2018. Those who availed Primary Membership could used welcome offers for a one year period. For a period of one year from March 31st, 2018, Jio Prime Members should pay Rs 303 per Month (Rs 10 crore per Day) to avail 4G Data.

Doubts were raised whether Jio will be able to retain its subscribers even after it starts charging for its services from April this year. Although most of the subscribers preferred using Jio as a second mobile connection to use free data services, They mayn't immediately stop using it because of the cheap data plans it guarantees.

Reliance has invested $10 billion in Jio. Profits of Top 3 Telecom Network Operators namely Bharti Airtel, Vodafone & Idea has fallen drastically in the past six months due to Jio's emergence.
