Congress Leader Renuka Chowdhury emerged victorious in the HMT Staff Elections by defeating Quthbullapur TRS MLA Vivekananda. About 141 out of 151 Total Members exercised their right to vote in the polls. While Renuka Chowdhury received 79 votes, Vivekananda settled for 65 votes.
TRS Leader B Vinod served as the Chairman of HMT Staff Union until now. With this sensational victory, Renuka Chowdhury will now occupy his position. This is going to be her second term as head of HMT Staff Union.
For some reasons, TRS kept facing setbacks one after the other post 2018 Assembly Elections. It received a rude shock in MLC Elections which happened few weeks ago. And now, A setback was faced in the HMT Staff Union elections as well.
If this is an indication, Ruling Party mayn't be able to win 16 MP Seats in 2019. There is every possibility of both Congress and BJP bagging at least one MP Seat in Telangana.
