Role of Principal in Rishikeswari's Suicide

The suicide of Frist Year B.Arch Student Rishikeswari in the hostel room has exposed the menace of ragging in Acharya Nagarjuna University. A suicide note 'My Last Note' written by Rishikeswari revealed how her roommate Anisha, senior students Jayacharan and Srinivas harassed her for several days.

Now, The Principal of Acharya Nagarjuna University is facing allegations of encouraging raging in the campus and ignoring the complaint of harassment filed by Rishikeswari's Father. A footage shot on fresher's day showing the Principal dancing for Bollywood numbers with senior students is now doing rounds everywhere.

Post the allegations, Acharya Nagarjuna University Principal Gudavalli Babu Rao stepped down and pledged to stay away from campus until he receives a clean chit. He also said Rishikeswari's Father met him only to change his daughter hostel room but never brought to his notice about the harassment. He claimed to have taken strict measures such as Anti-ragging Committee and even CCTV Cameras were installed during his regime. On the controversial video, Mr. Rao defended himself saying he danced only after students requested him to do so and even some parents were present at the fresher's party on that day.
