TDP Government allotted as much as 120 acres of land to a private varsity 'Accord University' for a nominal price of Rs 75 crore. While 70 acres of land was offered in Yarada area, About 50 acres was allocated in Sabbavaram.
As per the market price quoted by State Government, Each acre of land in Yarada is worth Rs 14.52 crore. Whereas, Accord University received 70 acres for just Rs 70 crore.
Land in Sabbavaram was allotted for Rs 10 lakh per acre. Which means, The price of 50 acres is not more than Rs 5 crore.
TDP Government claims such initiatives on behalf of the state government has to be taken for making AP a World-class Education Hub. The question would be does these Private University charging hefty fees really deserve such incentives. Whether the poor could get placement in these Varsities established with government's cooperation? That's something Andhrites want to know..!
