Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao laid foundation stone for new secretariat which will be constructed with a budget of Rs 400 crore behind the D-Block on Thursday. Ministers and Officials took part in the ceremony.
After laying foundation stone for the new secretariat, KCR went to Erramanzil for the Bhoomi Pooja of new Assembly. CM hosted luncheon for Ministers and MLAs at the Pragathi Bhavan at 2 PM.
New Secretariat will be spread across 6 lakh square feet. It will have all the facilities needed for the convenience of CM, Ministers, Officials, Media and Visitors. Most importantly, Secretariat will be having perfect vaastu.
Sub-Committee headed by Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy will decide whether the structures of the present secretariat should be demolished at once or in a phased manner. A, B, C Blocks might be demolished initially.
