Congress has got a much needed boost with the bypolls in Karnataka. It managed to win two MP seats and two MLA seats, while the BJP managed to win just one MP seat. This definitely is a good news for the Congress especially as they are coming ahead of the 2019 mega polls. But, why is the TDP rejoicing so much? One does not celebrate when the neighbour's wife gives birth to a baby!!
AP's agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has said that the one seat that the BJP had won was because of money power and that the JDS-Congress victory is a victory of democracy. He said the same results would be repeated in the Lok Sabha telections too.
But, Somireddy appears to have forgotten the history. The bypolls are usually won by the ruling party. The BJP has indeed failed in Karnataka, but how does that benefit the TDP in AP? These bypolls have actually strengthened the Congress and a powerful Congress would be a problem for the TDP too during the seat-sharing in Telangana now and AP later. But, as of now, the TDP is clearly celebrating neighbour's success.
