BJP fielded Suresh Gopi in Kerala and Ravi Kishan in Uttar Pradesh as its MP Candidate for 2019 Lok Sabha Polls. And now, The Saffron Party is trying to make yet another Senior Hero contest the upcoming elections.
Speculations of Sunny Deol contesting from Amritsar Lok Sabha Constituency surfaced after BJP Chief Amit Shah met him in Pune on Friday. The Bollywood Actor, however, refused to make his intensions clear until now.
In Punjab, BJP had an alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal. Saffron Party will be contesting in three (Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur) out of 13 Lok Sabha Seats in Punjab.
Congress MP Candidate for Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla declared he is ready for the battle against Sunny Deol. 'Let the people decide who is the real hero,' he commented.
Sunny Deol's Father Dharmendra served as Bikaner BJP MP from 2004 to 2009. The Veteran Actor's Wife Hema Malini was a sitting MP of Mathura. She is contesting again from the same segment in 2019 Polls.
