A Petition has been moved in the Supreme Court challenging the Early Polls in Telangana by the end of 2018.

Shashank Reddy from Siddipet filed the petition in the Apex Court complaining that advancement of Assembly Polls would have a negative impact on the public. He brought to the notice of the SC that around 20 lakh people will have the right to vote if Elections happen after the end of full term. 'There is no need for preponement of the Assembly Elections in Telangana. Early Polls should be considered as a violation of the Constitution. CM himself informed he decided to go for Early Polls after holding talks with Election Commission. KCR had even announced the Election Schedule. How could CM do so? Is it fair?,' questioned the Petitioner.

Mr.Reddy opined there is neither Political Crisis nor Emergency Situation in Telangana to conduct Early Polls. He accused TRS of dissolving the Assembly for political gains. 'Taking all these factors into consideration, Governor Rule should be implemented in Telangana. Assembly Polls and Lok Sabha Polls must happen simultaneously,' he opined.
