The sudden demise of sitting MLA Bhuma Nagireddy led to the Nandyal by-election. It's almost official that Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy (S/o Bhuma Nagireddy's Elder Brother) will be TDP Candidate for by-poll.

TDP Leader Shilpa Mohan Reddy & former Minister Farooq lobbied for TDP Ticket. They even threatened to contest on YCP Ticket if TDP Leadership doesn't pay heed to them. Finally, CM Chandrababu Naidu succeeded in pacifying them after a series of meetings. Now, What about YSRC Candidate?

In 2014 Polls, Gangula Prabhakar Reddy (TDP) and Bhuma Nagi Reddy (YSR Congress) are fielded against each other in Nandyal constituency. It's Bhuma who emerged victorious by a slight margin in this election. After Bhuma Family shifted loyalties to TDP, Gangula Family joined YCP. Jagan made Gangula Prabhakar Reddy an MLC in MLAs Quota. Now, Gangula's Brother Prathap Reddy is likely to be YCP Candidate for Nandyal by-poll. Yesterday evening, A meeting took place between Jagan and Prathap Reddy at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad regarding the same matter.
