TDP is a party of dedicated and diehard cadre. The workers have been the biggest asset of the party and have stood with the party through the thick and thin. Founder NTR used to value the workers very much. Many of the dedicated workers had to go through log of mental agony when the party threw out NTR. But, then Chandrababu convinced them and they stayed with him.
Post-NTR, Chandrababu Naidu was the boss and his word was law. He had a pliant and subservient media, which did his bidding. It played a key role during the oustng of NTR. Many party workers are now feeling that Chandrababu had erred Iin joinng hands with the BJP first and then severing his ties with it.
Till now, they remained silent in deference to late NTR. But, now murmurs are growing in the party over the proposal to join hands with the Congress Party which is the arch-rival of the TDP. Many are questioning the arbitrary decisions of Chandrababu Naidu. TDP leaders and cadre are loath to joining hands with the Congress. If the poll pact is finalized, several TDP leaders might leave the party. Leaders like Ayyanna patrudu and KE Krishnamurthy have openly questioned Chandrababu's stand. These and other leaders will meet in a day or two and tell Chandrababu about their fears and apprehensions. Some leaders have reportedly told their workers to be ready to leave the party if the alliance is formalized.
