GHMC results: 0 in 2009; 99 In 2016

The ruling TRS party emerged as single largest party in the GHMC Elections. The party is marching towards the magic figure 100. The ruling party has registered the victory by virtually wiping out main opposition Congress and the TDP-BJP pact.
This was the first GHMC election after the formation of Telangana state. In 2009 elections Congress shared power with MIM and surprisingly TRS had no representation in the previous body. Now the same party won the mayor post by winning nearly 100 seats.
Telangana IT minister KTR who led TRS campaign in the elections Spoke to media and said that responsibility was double for their party. He hoped that the opposition parties would come forward to extend their cooperation with the government for development of Hyderabad as a global city.
Other side there was no stopping TRS leaders as the poll results came out. The entire city turned pink with the massive celebrations of TRS party activists.
