Tammareddy Bharadwaj responded on the comments made by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh over the Nandi Awards controversy.

The Veteran Filmmaker opined Chief Minister has dealt the issue in a dignified manner by clarifying caste factor doesn't applies for Nandi Awards. Whereas, He found the remarks of Nara Lokesh very objectionable. 'Being CM's Son & a Minister, Lokesh said those who don't have Aadhaar and Voter ID in AP has been criticizing the government over Nandi Awards. It's really painful to hear such a statement from him. He should know what is what before speaking. Lokesh should have at least kept the prestige of his Father in mind,' he opined.

Tammareddy questioned Lokesh where did he have his Aadhaar card until recently. He further added, 'Where does your father have his Aadhaar card. You still live in Hyderabad. It wouldn't look good if we ask do you have the right to question us like that. Better if you maintain some dignity'.

Finally, Tammareddy maintained Nandi Awards aren't for Aadhaar Card holders in AP alone. He advised Lokesh to introduce the rule that Nandi Awards would be given for only those who have Aadhaar cards in AP before speaking in such manner. 'These aren't Aadhaar Card awards. Nandi Awards are for Telugu Films produced anywhere in the World,' he said.
