Consulate General of the USA, in Hyderabad, Katherine Hadda told Telugu is the 3rd Most Widely Spoken Indian Language and 20th Most Spoken Language in the United States. She quoted the American Community Survey 2012-2016 while making this announcement.
At the 242nd American Independence Day celebrations organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (AP & Telangana chapter) in Hyderabad, Katherine Hadda opined Indian diaspora, Telugu-speaking community in particular, played a key role in bringing our societies together. 'I keep hearing that every fourth person in Telugu States have family ties in USA. I suspect it could be an underestimate. It's from AP and Telangana, Most Indian Students go to US,' she said.
IT & Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan told a special bond has been developed between US and Telangana in the past four years.
