It is known that Sachin Tendulkar adopted Puttamraju Kandrika village of Gudur rural mandal in Nellore district under Sansad Gram Yojana programme in 2014. He spent close to Rs 4 crore for works such as providing drinking water, toilets, roads, underground drainage, sewage treatment plant and community hall.

Inspite of doing his bit to the society already, The Cricket Icon adopted one more village. People of Donja village in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra will be grateful to Sachin always for selecting their region for adoption. They even expressed their happiness over Sachin's choice and promised to inspire other village with rapid development.

Osmanabad is facing severe drought for the past few years. Several farmer suicides have been reported in this region. About 582 families live in Donja village as per 2011 census. The total population stood at 2,863 (1,508 males, 1,355 females).
