Imran Sheikh, the cricketer who helped India emerge as Cricket World Cup champion in the deaf & mute category in 2005 is now selling 'moong kachori' at a roadside stall on the Old Padra Road in Vadodara. His consistent performance fetched him the job of a Captain three years ago.

When asked why he made such a move, Imran Sheikh explains playing deaf and mute cricket matches doesn't earn him much money and he has to chose alternate options to support his family. He began a nutritious kachori stall with the help of his wife Roza and also able to get a part-time job in Gujarat refinery.

Passion for cricket made Imran Sheikh play the game from the age of 15. After getting into Gujarat team with the guidance of his coach Nitendra Singh, He was able to find a place in India Team as well. In 2005 World Cup semis, He scored 70 runs against Nepal, 60 against New Zealand and a match winning 62 against Pakistan. Imran claimed 3 crucial wickets and scored 40 runs against England in the finals to help India win the World Cup trophy.
