27, Safdarjung â this is the famed address in Delhi. For over four decades, this iconic building housed Scindia family in Delhi. First Madhav Rao Scindia used it. He was never defeated in the elections, so the building stayed with him. After his death, his son Jyothiraditya Scindia became an MP. He has been continuously winning the elections and he began living in the same house.
But, this time around, the unthinkable happened. Jyotiraditya lost to a political novice this time. His one-time protege, who was insulted by his wife when he asked for a selfie, has won this time. So, Jyothiraditya has to vacate the house. It is being rumoured that his building will now be allocated to the Union Human Resources Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Ever since Modi came to power, he has imposed a strict rule asking those who are no longer MPs to vacate their house so that others could occupy. He has also refused to convert some buildings into memorials for some leaders. He said this would set a bad precedent and would lead to competition among the politicians.
