First Of Its Kind Shutdown in US History

The failure of Senate in passing the New Budget has led to the beginning of Federal shutdown in United States.

There is dilemma over the final result as Republicans and Democrats were divided on key issues. Even the bipartisan meetings held in the last minute didn't fetched the required 60 votes to clear the bill to fund Government until February 16th. While the House of Representatives voted 230-197 to fund Government till February, Senate failed to pass by a margin of 50-49. Which indicates, Government Services will remain closed until budget gets approval. Five Democrats extended support to the Bill. Whereas, Five Republicans voted against it.

This is said to be the first shutdown in US history while a same party have control over chambers of Congress and White House.

US Shutdown happened last time in 2013 when Federal Employees carried out strike for a period of 16 days.

Donald Trump expressed his displeasure in this way: 'Not looking good for our great Military or Safety & Security on the very dangerous Southern Border. Dems want a Shutdown in order to help diminish the great success of the Tax Cuts, and what they are doing for our booming economy'.
