Modi Signed File To Increase Assembly Seats?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have finally offered his consent for increase of Assembly Seats in AP and Telangana. None of the Ruling Parties in Telugu States have confirmed this development so far. Even BJP hasn't issued any statement in this regard so far.

Whereas, Telangana Congress claims to be having reliable information on this development. T-PCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy told PM has cleared the note file allowing delimitation of Assembly Constituencies in the Telugu States and it will be tabled in next Parliament Session. He went on to say even local BJP Leaders have no information about it.

When CMs of Telugu States had earlier sought increase of Assembly Segments citing the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act 2014, PM Modi questioned what's the hurry as it will happen anyhow in 2026. At one point, Telugu CMs lost the hope completely. Twist came in the form of BJP's need for increase of Assembly Seats in poll-bound Jharkhand. The Saffron Party included both AP and Telangana to avoid criticism.

If the latest update is true, Assembly Seats in AP would increase from 175 to 225 and in Telangana from 119 to 153.
