Controversial Overthrow in the 50th Over of the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 Final invited severe backlash from across the World. Neither Cricketer Fraternity nor Fans were happy with what has happened at a crucial phase of the match. Actually, That moment decided the champions of 2019 World Cup.

In the 50th Over, Ben Stokes was on his way to complete the second run and the throw from Martin Guptill struck the bat of the England All-Rounder, resulting in deflection of ball to the boundary. Instead of 2 runs, England received 4 bonus runs and this unexpected development helped the host nation to draw the match.

Actually, On-Field Umpire Kumar Dharmasena made a blunder here. Instead of offering 5 runs as per ICC Rules, He made England gain 6 runs with his error in judgement.

The MCC World Cricket Committee (WCC) decided to review the controversial overthrow decision in September 2019. The Panel comprises of Cricket Legends Shane Warne and Kumar Sangakkara.

MCC World Cricket Committee suggested usage of Ball-Tracking for helping On-Field Umpires judge Waist-Height No Balls and Wides over Batsman's head.
