He is the media baron that every party panders to. Even national leaders go to his office and prostrate before him. Every party goes head over heels pleasing him. One gives him a coveted national award and another gives him prime land to set up a spiritual city. Such is his power. He never goes to meet anyone, but everyone goes to him seeking support.
But, everyone knows that his first love is the chief minister of a neighbouring state who belongs to his community. Of late, things are said to be not all that hunky dory between the CM and the media baron. The media baron is said to be upset over the rising influence of another media boss, who rose from a bicycle riding reporter to a power plant owner. This media boss has now emerged as the eyes, ears and even brain of the chief minister. It was this media boss who forged recent political alliances against the TRS and the BJP. In all these, the ageing media baron was kept out. The media baron, who has all along opposed the Congress, is now finding it very difficult to support it. So, he is said to be in two minds whether to support the alliance or not.
He is now said to be looking for new icons to promote in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. If sources are to be believed, he is looking at a saffron robed sanyasi, who has just entered politics. This, analysts say, explains why the sanyasi-turned-politician is getting so much publicity in the media organisations that the baron runs.
