No Foreign Donations! Why Don't Modi Help?

Decision of Centre to reject Foreign Donations for Kerala Flood Relief came under severe criticism. Rs 700 crore offered by UAE for relief and rehabilitation in the flood-ravaged state was turned down by the Union Government. Kerala Government and Flood Victims have been fuming at Centre for the insensitive approach.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan questioned, 'Which Law prevents acceptance of Foreign Donations?'. All the Political Parties in Kerala have been finding fault with Centre.
In 2004 December, Then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh took a decision not to accept Foreign Donations for Tsunami Affected States. Damage happened in 2004 can't be compared with what happened to Kerala in 2018. Floods & Landslides resulted in a damage of Rs 2 lakh crore as per an estimate.
At least, Narendra Modi should offer a huge financial package to Kerala when he rejected the Foreign Donations. Is the NDA Government ready to do that? Offering mere Rs 600 crore won't be of much use. Keralites will never forgive Modi Govt if their feelings weren't respected.
