Woman unaware of Note Ban dies

Sathi Bai, an aged woman from Ernakulam District in Kerala, made headlines in January this year after she claimed to be unaware of demonetisation. She passed away on Thursday night due to health issues and all her attempts to exchange Rs 4 lakh old notes have failed.
The Woman came to know that Rs 4 lakh worth currency notes she have are not valid anymore in January when she went to purchase something. She then took the money to bank for exchanging but came to know the deadline had ended.
Later, Local Panchayat and Police offered to help Sathi Bai. She was taken to Chennai with all necessary documents and brought the matter to the notice of concerned Ministry but her misery didn't end. The 76-Year-Old was admitted to Ernakulam General Hospital two weeks ago as she is suffering from heart and kidney disease. She passed away on Thursday and her sad story has pained everyone who came to known about it.
That Rs 4 lakh was that of retirement money of Sathi Bai. She worked in Kerala State Veterinary Department.
