Telugu Desam Party faced the worst defeat since its inception in the 2019 Elections. There is every possibility of TDP losing most of its MLAs either because of defections to other parties or due to disqualification. Already, YCP Leaders moved petitions seeking disqualification of TDP MLAs Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa, Karanam Balram, Atchannaidu and Maddala Giridhar. And now, A similar petition was moved against Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.

Yarlagadda Venkat Rao was the YCP Candidate of Gannavaram Assembly Constituency for 2019 Assembly Polls. While Vallabhaneni Vamsi secured 103,881 votes (47.07%), Venkat Rao received 103,043 votes (46.69%).

YCP Candidates have been approaching court against violations of Election Code, Errors while counting Postal Ballot Votes and Inappropriate Affidavits of TDP Candidates. Yarlagadda Venkat Rao alleges Vallabhaneni Vamsi has violated People's Representatives Act and Election Code. He accused the Sitting MLA of distributing housing plots using the signature of former Tehsildar inspite of Election Code. YCP Candidate informed the court that few beneficiaries approached police upon realising that those land documents were fake. He urged the court to direct Election Commission to count the Postal Ballot votes once again.

Elected TDP Leaders have been coping with sleepless nights because of the petitions moved by YCP Candidates. Possibility of Court ordering for disqualification can't be ruled out. How many TDP MLAs will complete the full term?
