Azhar to contest from this Telangana Constituency

Telangana Congress Leaders were contemplating on fielding Mohammed Azharuddin against MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituency for 2019 General Elections.
Recently, Azhar was honoured with Rajiv Sadbhavan Award at a function held in Charminar. It's then Telangana PCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP Leader Jana Reddy, MLC Shabbir Ali and Former MP V Hanumantha Rao appealed the former Indian Skipper to contest from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency in next elections. They opined Azhar have good understanding about the issues in the city as he is a Hyderabadi.
After joining Congress, Azhar won as MP contesting from Moradabad Constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He, however, faced a defeat in 2014 Lok Sabha polls contesting from Rajasthan.
Azhar responded positively to the appeal made by T-Congress Leaders. He claimed to be willing to abide by the orders of party leadership all the time. 'Good results can be achieved only with collective effort. So, We need to work hard to bring back Congress to power,' he said.
