It’s former wrestler vs former cricketer. The wrestler knows how to put his rivals on the mat and the cricketer know how to hit the ball for a sixer. We are talking about former wrestler Anjan Kumar Yadav and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.

All hell broke loose when both met at the Hyderabad city Congress meeting the other day. Azhar said he would contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket. This was enough to make Anjan Yadav, two-time MP from Secunderabad, see red. She shot back saying that he wasthe candidate from Secunderabad and dared Azhar to contest from Hyderabad if he really wanted. This led to slogan shouting as Anjan’s supporters were present in large numbers. The whole meeting was plunged into anarchy. With the situation worsening, former Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao left the place in a huff.

All this happened in the presence of Rahul Gandhi’s envoy Bosu Raju and PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy. Though Uttam Kumar Reddy tried to bring order, his attempts failed with the rival groups shouting at each other. Adding to the confusion, former Union Minister Surve Satyanarayana categorically said that only Anjan Kumar Yadav would be the Congress candidate from Secunderabad Lok Sabha Constituency.

Meanwhile, former minister Mukesh Goud and his son Vikram Goud abstained from the meeting.
