On Valentine's Day, Gujarat Independent MLA Jignesh Mevani claimed many people had said 'I Love You' to him. He wondered whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi received any such lovable message ever. 'Has anyone ever said 'I Love You' to Modi? I doubt, what say? Happy Valentine's Day,' he wrote.
The Dalit Leader made use of the occasion to target RSS. 'More the Valentine's Day protests staged by RSS, Malayalam song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' starring Priya Prakash Varrier garnered more attention. Again, Indians have proved that they prefer love more than hate,' said the Legislator while sharing the romantic song.
Bajrang Dal Activists harassed lovers on Valentine's Day this year as well. They warned couples with forced marriages if they visit public places.
On the other hand, West Bengal Government declared Flagship Healthcare Scheme announced by Centre as a huge scam. CM Mamata Banerjee questioned, 'Why it need Modi's health scheme when 50 lakhs people in the state had already enrolled to Swasthi Saadhi Programme? States have to bear 40 percent of the expenditure of this health scheme. Why would we spend on another scheme when we are already implementing our own scheme?'.
