Telangana Jana Samithi President Prof.Kodandaram agreed to be part of Grand Alliance will the sole aim to defeat TRS in the Early Polls. He, however, demanded a Common Minimum Program and sought many seats for TJS. Whereas, Congress offered to nominate Kodandaram to Rajya Sabha if he is willing to compromise on number of seats. Kodandaram, however, isn't interested in becoming Rajya Sabha MP as of now.
Buzz is that Prof Kodandaram will be the candidate of Mahakutami from Secunderabad Constituency. Osmania University in which Kodandaram worked as Professor is in Secunderabad Constituency. Kodandaram would have good chances of emerging victorious if he contests from here in the upcoming Assembly Polls.
Minister Padma Rao represents Secunderabad Assembly Constituency. Neither Congress nor TDP have strong candidates to field in Secunderabad. This is why Kodandaram is being preferred as Mahakutami Candidate.
