Pranab should have been PM in 2004: Manmohan

Former PM Manmohan Singh didn't mind accepting Pranab Mukherjee was most qualified to be Prime Minister at the time when he was chosen for the post. He made this comment during the launch of Pranab Mukherjee's book 'The Coalition Years'.
Manmohan Singh: 'My Political Entry was accidental, whereas Pranab was in politics out of his own choice. In 2004 when I became PM, Pranab is more qualified than Me to be in such a position but I have no other choice. It's completely justified if he feels disappointed when I was picked up'.
The Ex-PM claimed both he and Pranab Mukherjee has always maintained healthy relations. Whereas, Pranab lauded Manmohan for successfully running the coalition government.
Sonia Gandhi might have feared that Pranab would take control of the party if he becomes Prime Minister. Congress Party is now paying the price for making Manmohan Singh as PM instead of Pranab Mukherjee who is one of the most efficient leaders in the country. The 100-plus years old party ended up winning lowest number of seats in Lok Sabha in 2014.
