Elections barely months away, but this constituency has no TDP incharge

key constituency in West Godavari district

Though a key constituency in West Godavari district, TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu has not yet appointed a constituency incharge for Chintalapudi reserved seat. With elections barely a few months away, the TDP in this constituency is in a disarray as there is no to-go man in this area for the TDP. What more, this is a reserved constituency for the SCs.

There are three claimants for the post. While senior politician Akumarthi Rama Rao is one, there are two NRI vying for the post. Both Sanga Roshan Kumar and Bommaji Anil are NRIs and want to be the constituency incharges. Though Chandrababu Naidu held one-on-one meetings with all the three, he has not yet announced the name of the constituency incharge.

Sources say that Chandrababu wants to ensure that all the three work in tandem and that there is no dissidence. He is said to have spoken to all three and is said to have asked them to cooperate with the selected leader. Sources say that it could take a week or so for Chandrababu to finalise the name.

As of now, the TDP workers and sympathisers are in a quandary over the absence of the constituency. They are unable to chart out outreach programmes in the absence of a proper leader. They are also worried that any further delay would affect the prospects of the party in the upcoming elections.
