BJP needs YSRCP and Jagan knows it well!!

It is advantage YSRCP in national politics now. The YSRCP has suddenly become extremely important in the NDA scheme of things. With the elections fast approaching, the BJP is extra busy pandering to the YSRCP. Hence the ruling BJP at the centre is very careful not to rub the ruling YSRCP the wrong way.

The YSRCP has 22 MPs in Lok Sabha and 9 in Rajya Sabha. More than the Lok Sabha, the seats in Rajya Sabha are very important as they would help the BJP get its bills passed in the Rajya Sabha quite easily. BJP, which is just short of majority, needs the support of the YSRCP to tide over the challenges

At the same time, the TDP has just three Lok Sabha MPs and one Rajya Sabha MP. The TDP as of now has shown no inclination to join the Congress-led camp. Also, it desperately needs the helping hand of the BJP in the coming elections in AP. It is already trying to woo the Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena. So, the BJP will get the support of both the YSRCP and the TDP in the Rajya Sabha.

The ruling YSRCP has learnt to leverage this advantage and is now dictating the opposition alliances. It is ensuring that the BJP does not join hands with the TDP. It is also seeing to it that the BJP-Jana Sena front will cut into the anti-YSRCP votes in the 2024 assembly elections. This, the YSRCP knows, will ensure YS Jagan get a second term in Andhra Pradesh.
