The crazy movies which are supposed to rejuvenate the box office are getting postponed. The theatres are looking very dull and the buyers are shivering in fear looking at the number of tickets being sold. They are praying to get enough money so that the staff can be paid and other requirements are met. After 'Family Star' at the start of April, the theatres are not getting a lot of love from the public. Barring 'Manjummel Boys', none of the movies returned good money to the buyers. May is also proving to be very difficult due to lack of movie releases.

'Aa Okkati Adakku' turned out to be a disappointment. Allari Naresh kept a lot of hopes on the film but it did not work out. The collections over the weekend are decent but we need to see how much it gets during the weekdays. 'Prasanna Vadanam' is not able to utilise the good talk it secured. Suhas is unable to pull the audience into theatres in this hot weather. The reports from the main centres is quite decent. 'Baak' is getting decent response from the public. Having Tamannaah and Raashi Khanna in this horror drama seems to have worked out. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's 'Sabari' is running on deficit and there are no Bollywood releases too.

The unbearable heat this season is stopping the public from stepping out of their homes despite the arrival of decent films. They are not showing in watching average or above average movies as they are fine with watching them on OTT platforms later. The election fever too plays a part though it is not the entire reason. There is IPL season going on too. All these factors are making April and May very dry season for the producers and distributors.
