Aamir Khan Breaks Norms, Releases Film On YouTube!

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has surprised the industry by releasing Sitare Zameen Par on YouTube instead of selling it to an OTT platform. The film, starring Aamir and Genelia D�Souza, hit theatres last month. Even before the release, Aamir said he wouldn�t give digital rights to any OTT company. Instead, he chose to stream it himself using a pay-per-view model.

The film will be available from August 1 on a new YouTube channel called Aamir Khan Talkies Janata Ka Theater. Viewers can watch it for Rs 100. This decision caught many off guard, especially OTT platforms that were expecting to buy the rights. Aamir�s choice challenges the usual streaming model used in the industry.

Aamir said he prefers theatres for his films but wants to offer another option once the theatrical run is done. According to him, this method helps both the filmmakers and the audience, keeping prices low and control in the hands of the makers.

While some see this as a bold, audience-friendly move, others worry it could disrupt the OTT market. But Aamir has made his stand clear, he wants direct access to viewers without middlemen. Whether others follow or not, this move has already sparked a debate across the film world.
