Is ‘Dacoit’ Push Enough For Goodachari 2?

Adivi Sesh’s latest outing Dacoit, is being claimed as a big success with the producers already reporting ‘breakeven’ of around 20 crores in the first weekend itself. In its full run, the movie might collect around ₹50-60 crores from the global box office. With the film’s non-theatrical rights, including OTT and other rights fetching around ₹48 crores, a figure that is otherwise not possible even for a star like Pawan Kalyan, surely the movie walked into the super-profit zone. However, what needs to be seen is whether this pushes enough for Goodachari 2 now?

Production house People Media Factory thought that if “Dacoit” turns out to be a success, then their big-budget venture “Goodachari 2” will get massive offerings and openings. In fact, G2 was supposed to release long back, but Dacoit took over, and Adivi Sesh wanted to prove a point that he would do magic with big budgets. Given this current scenario, as Dacoit is collecting well in Telugu states, surely Goodachari would also get a massive influx of offers from distributors. If they could manage to get great OTT sales through the teasers and trailers, the heavy budget of the film would be recovered easily.

Reports are coming that G2 is made with a cost of more than ₹150 crores, and that’s the reason they want to test the waters with Dacoit first. As People Media Factory’s other movies like The Raja Saab have resulted in massive losses, surely they are vouching for Goodachari 2 now, as the film could easily recover the investment in the very least, if not hefty profits. Going by Dacoit numbers, we could say that it is very much possible.
