Adivi Sesh was first seen on 'Sontham' and he might have gone unnoticed in that film but no one knew what he was about to become after a few years. He is not just a hero but also a writer who is making one high-quality film after another. His movies like 'Kshanam', 'Goodachari', 'Evaru', 'Major' and 'HIT 2' impressed the audience big time and people are now eagerly waiting for this star actor's upcoming film 'G2' and 'SeshExShruti'. It is his birthday on 17th December and we managed to get a candid interview with Adivi Sesh in which he revealed interesting snippets about his upcoming projects, prospects of becoming a director, reason for long gaps and new birthday resolution. Let's dive into the review straightaway!

We wish a very happy birthday! Do you make birthday resolutions? If so, what did you take this year?

I usually take a lot of pressure while working on a film but I made the resolution of not to take so much pressure and enjoy my work from this year. I have two big projects in the making but I decided to enjoy the process without a lot of stress intake.

Your film 'Evaru' and 'Major' had a gap of three years. 'HIT 2' was released in December 2022 and your 'G2' started a few days back which means that it may not released till the second half of 2024. Can we know the reason for such long gaps?

The reason for the huge gap between 'Evaru' and 'Major' is the lockdown. Many think that a hero's work begins when the shooting begins but being the writer, my work starts from the scripting stage itself. Though the actual production takes a normal time, it is the pre-production work of my films that results in long gaps between film to film.

You are making 'G2' right now. 'Goodachari' becoming a big hit is the reason for it. Are you planning to continue this franchise?

'G2' is being made on a bigger scale. It will have a lot of slick action and interesting twists. To answer your question, Yes! I am planning to keep this franchise going in the coming years with movies like 'G2', 'G3' and so on.

'Goodachari' was Sobhitha Dhulipala's first film in Telugu. 'Major' was Saiee Manjrekar's first film in Tollywood. Now, Banita Sandhu is onboard for 'G2'. What is the reason behind casting another new actress?

Though it is Banita Sandhu's first film in Telugu, she did quality movies in Hindi like 'October' and 'Sardar Udham'. She is a very good actress and she is going to play a significant role in this movie. Also, 'G2' is a pan-Indian film and having a notable actress like her onboard will benefit us a lot.

You don't tend to repeat your directors a lot. Two new directors are handling your upcoming two pan-Indian projects. What is the reason for it?

Actually, we are all a closely-knit group. It is not a conscious decision to work with a new director as we all share a close relationship with each other. Shaneil Deo who is the director of my next project was the cinematographer for 'Kshanam' and 'Goodachari'. Garry BH who is editor of 'Goodachari' and 'HIT 2' is a director now. They are all highly talented technicians who have loads of experience and we have a great rapport which helps in making quality movies.

Both of your upcoming projects are pan-Indian ventures. What is the key factor in deciding whether the project has a pan-Indian appeal or not?

'G2' is a film that is being made in Telugu and it will be dubbed and released in other languages. But 'SeshExShruti' is made in both Telugu as well as Hindi. It is my second Hindi outing after 'Major'. Coming to your question, I don't make a film and decide whether it has pan-Indian scope or not. We usually decide whether to go pan-Indian during the writing stage itself.

What is the main reason for selecting a more established actress like Shruti Hassan in your project?

'SeshExShruti' is a film that requires a strong actress as it has ample scope to perform. When I write a script, I usually see if I can give any role to either Shruti or Sam. This movie gave me the chance to bring a performer like Shruti onboard. It has loads of action but it also has an intense love story. Shruti is going to be an asset to this movie.

Can we see you in a light-hearted movie or a love story in the coming days or will you be doing only action thrillers?

As I said, my film with Shruti Hassan is an intense love story though it has a lot of action. But in the future, I am willing to play a complete love story as well. In fact, I am going to do a love story soon but I am not the writer for that film.

We don't see you dancing in a lot of movies. Can we see you shaking a leg in your upcoming projects?

I like to dance but the movies I do don't provide any scope for dance numbers. Bollywood movies have the concept of promotional songs for action films too but Telugu audiences expect a good song to be in the movie rather than it being played during the end credits. But I dance a lot during parties and events. We need to see if there is any chance of shaking a leg in my future projects.

You are already a writer. So, can we see you becoming a director in the future?

Not really! I think with my heart when it comes to making movies. But being a director is more about thinking with mind. I don't like to take that extra pressure and I am good with being a writer and actor. I put my 100% effort into my movies and don't mind lifting sandbags if needed but direction is not something that I am looking forward to.

Tupaki.com wishes Adivi Sesh a very Happy Birthday and hope he continues to amaze the audience with his high quality films one after the other. May his pan-Indian projects 'G2' and 'SeshExShruti' become successful and help him in reaching greater heights.
