‘Agadha’ Pre-Release Event: M. S. Raju’s Film Wins Appreciation From Industry Celebrities

The pre-release event of ‘Agadha’ turned into a platform for prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry to applaud M. S. Raju’s latest directorial venture. As the supernatural drama prepares for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, the guests praised its story, performances, visual presentation, music and commercial potential.

Shyam Prasad Reddy, producer of the celebrated film ‘Arundhathi’, spoke about his long-standing association with M. S. Raju. He described Raju as a passionate producer and a trendsetter with a deep understanding of all aspects of filmmaking. Shyam Prasad Reddy said ‘Agadha’ is not merely a horror film and appreciated the film’s visuals and editing. He also praised Kamakshi Bhaskarla, comparing the impression she made on him to the impact Anushka created when he first saw her in ‘Arundhathi’.

M. S. Raju thanked producer Kasi Visalakshi Balusu, presenter Ajay KR and the entire cast and crew for their contribution. He said he made ‘Agadha’ with the intensity of a “super over,” ensuring that the film remains engaging throughout instead of depending only on its final moments. Raju expressed hope that the film would become a blockbuster with the blessings of the Goddess.

Sai Rajesh recalled his time as an assistant director under M. S. Raju and said that he learned important lessons in screenplay writing during that period. After watching ‘Origin of Agadha’ and the trailer, he praised Raju as a genuine “kingmaker” and wished the film great success.

SKN praised Raju’s long and successful journey in the industry, saying that his stature remains the same whether he works as a producer or director. He noted that the teaser and trailer reveal a film that goes beyond the traditional horror format. SKN also appreciated Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Shravan Reddy and the production team for attempting an unconventional subject.

B. Gopal highlighted M. S. Raju’s talent for identifying promising stories. Recalling Raju’s earlier prediction about the success of ‘Samarasimha Reddy’ , he called him a daring producer and a writer at heart. B. Gopal said he believed ‘Agadha’ could achieve even greater success than ‘Devi’.

Lagadapati Sridhar said that M. S. Raju and Shyam Prasad Reddy have always been among the producers he admires most. He hoped ‘Agadha’ would become a major success and mark Raju’s powerful return as a director. He also wished the film a lasting cult following.

Filmmaker Anil Viswanath said he had been aware of ‘Agadha’ since its scripting phase. Having watched the finished film, he described the climax as shocking, surprising and futuristic. He praised Kamakshi Bhaskarla’s performance in the full-length role, along with Shravan Reddy, Jovika Vijay Kumar, the cinematography and Rakesh Venkatapuram’s music.

Kamakshi Bhaskarla expressed her gratitude to M. S. Raju for trusting her with the female lead and the central role. She said the opportunity had given her career an important beginning. Shravan Reddy recalled that Raju had first selected him for ‘Dirty Hari’ after noticing his performance in a web series and thanked him for offering another significant role in ’Agadha’.

Producer Kasi Visalakshi Balusu said the film’s teaser and trailer had received a positive response from viewers. She praised Raju’s dedication and hard work during the making of the film, adding that his commitment strengthened her belief in its success.

The positive reactions at the event have raised expectations for ‘Agadha’, which is being promoted as a supernatural drama with horror, divine elements, emotional conflict and the battle between good and evil.
