Tamil star Ajith Kumar is one of the biggest actors in South India. He has a strong fan base and has given many successful films. However, recent reports suggest that the actor is facing some difficulty in signing new projects. The main reason is said to be his very high remuneration.

Ajith is reportedly asking for a huge salary, close to ₹160 crore to ₹200 crore for a film. This amount is making many producers worried. In today’s situation, the film industry is not very stable, and producers are being very careful with their budgets. Because of this, many are not ready to take such a big risk.

A top production company, Mythri Movie Makers, had earlier worked with Ajith on a film titled Good Bad Ugly. The film did not bring expected profits to the makers. Even though they were interested in working with Ajith again, they reportedly stepped back because of his high pay demand.

Not just Telugu producers, even some Tamil producers have approached Ajith for new projects. But his salary expectations have made them think twice. They are finding it difficult to manage such a big budget, especially when the returns from films are uncertain.

Another issue is the drop in non-theatrical revenues like OTT and satellite rights. Earlier, these deals helped producers recover a large part of their investment. But now, the situation has changed, and recovery has become harder. Because of this, producers are not willing to invest heavily on star salaries.

There were also talks about a project with a Telugu producer, but it has now been put on hold. Though there is no official confirmation, industry sources say financial issues could be the reason.

At this point, Ajith may need to reduce his remuneration if he wants to sign more films quickly. Otherwise, he might have to wait longer for the right project. The coming months will decide how things change for the star actor.
