Lenin’s ₹100 Cr Dream Is Practically Impossible

After nealry 10 years after his debut at the Box Office, finally at the age of 31, Akhil Akkineni has realised the power of true cinema when he came with one. Through “Lenin”, he has not only scored a big success at the box office but has also proved his detractors wrong after a decade of brickbats and criticism. However, the box office numbers might not create superior records for him, for now.

On Day 1, the expectation is that “Lenin” will score ₹100 crore at the box office, and producer Naga Vamsi has exuded confidence about the same. However, the film collected ₹60 crore gross from the worldwide box office, as per trade experts, in its 10-day run at the box office. While the production house’s numbers are not appearing on posters these days, the trade believes that Lenin might not collect more than ₹65-70 crore gross in the final run, going by the current trend.

With other movies like “The Odyssey” taking over, and new Telugu movies coming up, and 23rd July likely to witness another barrage of films like “Chennai Love Story”, surely it will be tough for Lenin to put on a good show from now. On the other hand, the makers of Lenin are likely to celebrate “Blockbuster Vaibhavam” of Lenin today with Naga Chaitanya as the special guest, along with Nagarjuna and Akhil.

That said, we have to see what kind of films Akhil Akkineni will now take up, such that he will be living up to this success range.
