Akhil Akkineni is enjoying the success of his latest film Lenin, which has performed well at the box office. After the film's release, the young actor has been attending several interviews and sharing interesting moments from his personal and professional life. One of his recent comments about his brother Naga Chaitanya has caught the attention of fans.
During an interview, the host referred to Naga Chaitanya as Akhil's "step brother." Akhil immediately corrected the statement and explained the difference. He said, "He is not my step brother. He is my half brother. But honestly, that word never mattered in our family because we always grew up as real brothers."
Akhil spoke warmly about his father, actor Nagarjuna, and praised the way he raised both his sons. He said, "My father never treated us differently. He always made us feel that both of us were equally important to him. There was never any difference between us at home."
When asked if people outside the family looked at their relationship differently, Akhil said that public opinions never affected them. He shared, "People may say many things, but inside our home there was only love and respect. We always believed we were brothers, and that feeling never changed."
The actor also recalled some happy memories from his childhood. He said Naga Chaitanya spent many years in Chennai while growing up. Akhil once visited him there and stayed with him for a few days. Later, when Naga Chaitanya shifted to Hyderabad, the two brothers got more opportunities to spend time together, and their bond became much stronger.
Akhil also revealed that there is an age difference of around eight years between them. He smiled while remembering those days and said, "When I was around ten years old, Chaitanya anna was eighteen or nineteen. I used to admire his cars and bikes and always felt excited whenever I got to spend time with him."
He admitted that they have different personalities and different interests. However, he said those differences never created distance between them. According to Akhil, their relationship became stronger naturally as they grew older.
