The Akkineni family once again showed the value of tradition, gratitude, and togetherness by hosting their annual Sankranti Breakfast at Annapurna Studios. This year’s celebration was extra special as it marked 50 years of a heartfelt tradition that has been followed without a break.
This meaningful custom was started five decades ago by legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, fondly known as ANR Garu. His idea was simple yet powerful. He wanted to personally thank the employees who worked behind the scenes and helped the studio grow. For him, every worker mattered, no matter their role, and Sankranti was the perfect time to express that respect.
To celebrate the Golden Jubilee year, the studio premises were decorated with bright colours and festive elements that reflected the true spirit of Sankranti. Traditional decorations, flowers, and a warm atmosphere made the event feel like a large family gathering rather than a formal function.
One special change made this year was the inclusion of employees’ families. For the first time, the Akkineni family invited not only the staff members but also their spouses and children. This thoughtful gesture made the celebration more meaningful and joyful. Laughter, conversations, and smiles filled the studio as families came together to celebrate the festival.
Staying true to ANR Garu’s values, members of the Akkineni family personally served breakfast to everyone present. They interacted warmly with the employees and their families, creating a sense of closeness and equality. This simple act reflected the belief that the success of the studio is built on the dedication of its people.
